FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
Dear Friends, Artists, Families, and Supporters,
When I first envisioned Manollasini, I dreamed of creating more than a stage. I imagined a welcoming cultural space where artists could share their work, students could experience the confidence of performance, and communities could connect through music, dance, and shared traditions.
My own journey is deeply rooted in Indian classical music and shaped by the teachers and mentors who guided me. Their example taught me that artistic tradition carries both discipline and responsibility—the responsibility to practice it with sincerity, present it with integrity, and create opportunities for others to experience it.
In 2013, I founded Saraswathi Sangeetha Kalakshetra, where I began teaching Carnatic music and nurturing students through the guru-shishya tradition. As the community grew, so did the need for platforms where students trained by different gurus and partner schools could perform, collaborate, and connect with wider audiences. That vision gradually expanded through community showcases, devotional presentations, virtual performances, multidisciplinary productions, and collaborations across artistic traditions.
In 2025, this evolving journey became Manollasini Inc.—a nonprofit cultural collective dedicated to creating inclusive platforms for performance, artistic collaboration, cultural preservation, and community engagement.
Manollasini does not replace the vital work of gurus and partner schools. We honor and amplify their work by creating opportunities where their students can present what they have learned, gain stage experience, collaborate with other artists, and share their traditions with the community.
Our platforms welcome children, youth, adults, emerging artists, accomplished performers, and participants of different abilities. We are especially committed to ensuring that students with special needs have meaningful opportunities to participate, perform, and belong.
This journey is sustained by a remarkable community of parents, students, gurus, artists, volunteers, collaborators, partners, and supporters. Your encouragement, trust, time, and talent have helped every performance and production come to life.
I invite you to walk with us—as an artist, guru, partner school, student, volunteer, supporter, or audience member. Together, we can preserve living traditions, celebrate artistic voices, and create new possibilities for future generations.
With gratitude and joy,
Manasa Khandrika
