Founder's Message

"At Manollasini, we believe that culture is a living, breathing bridge between generations. "

When I first envisioned the Manollasini Cultural Collective, I dreamed of more than a stage for performances or a place for classes. I imagined a home — a sanctuary where music, dance, and heritage could come alive, inspire creativity, heal the soul, and unite people across backgrounds and generations.

My own journey, deeply rooted in Indian classical arts, has been profoundly shaped by the guidance of my teachers and mentors. I am especially blessed to have trained under Smt. Sundari Janakiraman, a renowned Carnatic musician, composer, and graded artiste of All India Radio. Her devotion to the art form, coupled with her excellence in teaching, has left an enduring imprint on my musical path. Her example instilled in me the values of discipline, creativity, and service to the community — values that continue to guide Manollasini’s vision today.

That seed of inspiration grew into Saraswathi Sangeetha Kalakshetra (SSK), our first partner school, which blossomed into a decade-long journey of devotion, innovation, and community. From our first Navaratri recital to pandemic-era virtual concerts, from preserving rare compositions to fusing Carnatic music with global genres, every step has been guided by a desire to honor our roots while embracing new possibilities.

With Manollasini Inc., we are building a cultural ecosystem where students, educators, and artists can flourish together — where skill meets soul, and tradition meets innovation. Whether on stage, in the classroom, or within the community, our aim is to create experiences that inspire confidence, creativity, and connection.

This journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community — the parents, students, artists, collaborators, and well-wishers who have stood by us over the past decade. Your encouragement, trust, and belief have been the heartbeat of this movement, and I am deeply grateful for every moment we have shared.

I invite you to continue walking with us — as learners, performers, supporters, or simply as lovers of the arts — as we step into a new era of cultural leadership and creative vision. Together, we will carry forward the timeless legacy of Indian classical music and dance while shaping new stories for generations to come.

With gratitude and joy,

"To understand Manollasini’s soul, one must know the lamp that first lit its flame — my guru, Smt. Sundari Janakiraman."

Smt. Sundari Janakiraman, revered as a torchbearer of Carnatic tradition, is the guru of our Founder, Smt. Manasa Khandrika. A graded artiste of All India Radio and accomplished composer, she trained under Sri. Swamimalai Janakiraman Garu and Sri. Susarla Sivaram Garu, earning the highest academic honors in music, including the Sangit Vidwan from Adyar Music College, a Master’s with distinction from Madras University, and the prestigious Alankar in Music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

For over four decades, she has shaped generations of musicians through her rigorous training, deep knowledge, and dedication to the art. Her disciples have gone on to win national awards, earn advanced degrees in music, and serve as examiners for Alankar-level music examinations.

Her artistry, discipline, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire Manollasini’s mission — carrying forward a living tradition while creating space for innovation.
