Manollasini’s Marathi Cultural Chapter brings together artists, families, and community members to celebrate the rich artistic and cultural traditions of Maharashtra through music, dance, performance, and shared cultural experiences.
Rooted in Maharashtra’s diverse cultural heritage while welcoming contemporary expression, the Chapter creates opportunities for Marathi artistic traditions to be presented, experienced, and shared across generations within New Jersey’s diverse communities.

From the devotional poetry of Maharashtra’s Sant tradition to folk performance, Natya Sangeet, classical arts, and Marathi cinema, Maharashtra’s cultural landscape brings together centuries of artistic expression.
The Marathi Cultural Chapter celebrates this diversity by creating opportunities for traditional and contemporary forms to be experienced, presented, and shared.
Abhang & Devotional Traditions
Celebrate Abhang, Bhajan, Kirtan, and other devotional traditions shaped by Maharashtra’s rich Sant heritage and carried forward through generations of music and community expression.
Folk Music & Dance
Celebrate regional and folk traditions including Lavani, Powada, Gondhal, and other forms that reflect Maharashtra’s communities, histories, festivals, and storytelling traditions.
Film Music and Dance
Bring Marathi cinema to the community stage through songs, dance, instrumental performance, ensembles, and interpretations spanning different eras and styles.
Contemporary Expression
Encourage new interpretations of Marathi cultural identity through contemporary music, fusion, collaborative productions, and cross-cultural artistic expression.

CULTURAL SPOTLIGHT
Bhakti Tarang — A Celebration of Maharashtra’s Devotional Heritage
A beautiful beginning for Manollasini’s Marathi Cultural Chapter, Bhakti Tarang brought Maharashtra’s devotional and cultural heritage to the Manollasini stage through music, movement, and community participation.
The presentation featured Ramdas Abhang, expressive dance choreography, and the vibrant spirit of Vitthal Gajar and “Mauli Mauli” chants, creating a powerful celebration inspired by Maharashtra’s Warkari tradition.
Singers, musicians, and dancers came together in a collaborative presentation that connected devotional expression with the energy of collective music and movement—reflecting the spirit of Maharashtra’s living cultural traditions.

Connecting the Chapter to Manollasini Programs
The Marathi Cultural Chapter is not a separate performing-arts wing or a seventh Signature Program.
Instead, it creates a cultural community through which Marathi artists, families, Gurus, partner schools, and community organizations can connect with relevant Manollasini programs and performances.
