The Manollasini Regional Chapter – Marathi is a cultural initiative of Manollasini Inc., dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the rich artistic, literary, and spiritual heritage of the Marathi-speaking community.
Aligned with Manollasini’s mission of advancing Indian performing arts and fostering cultural collaboration, the Marathi Chapter serves as a platform for artists, Gurus, students, families, and cultural enthusiasts to connect through music, dance, literature, education, and community traditions.
The Marathi cultural tradition has made enduring contributions to Indian classical and semi-classical music, vibrant folk dance forms like Lavani and Koli, powerful oral storytelling through Povada and Gondhal, and a deeply foundational spiritual lineage rooted in the Varkari tradition. Leaving a profound impact on India’s cultural heritage, this legacy has seamlessly blended heroic history with profound devotion. Through dynamic performances, educational initiatives, cultural celebrations, and collaborative programs, the chapter seeks to preserve these traditions while inspiring future generations to embrace and carry them forward.

Celebrating the timeless legacy of Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Namdev, Sant Eknath, and Sant Tukaram, whose Abhangas and spiritual compositions continue to inspire profound devotion, sacred music, and cultural identity across generations.
Marathi Dance Traditions
Rooted in Maharashtra's historic soil, this vibrant heritage blends rhythmic legacy, folk tales, and sacred rituals. From the expressive rhythms of Lavani and the joyful coastal movements of the Koli Dance, to the heroic historical ballads of Povada and the devotional storytelling of Gondhal, these traditions celebrate a powerful artistic legacy that connects community, history, and devotion.
Marathi Chapter Volunteers
Rujuta Kelkar
Rujuta Kelkar is a financial services professional and certified yoga teacher who is deeply passionate about community engagement, holistic wellness, and the performing arts. A frequent coordinator, performer, and choreographer for local events, she leverages her love for dance, music, and karaoke to foster community connections and celebrate cultural heritage. Her diverse personal interests include reading suspense fiction, painting in the style of Bob Ross, and enjoying Mumbai-style chaat.
Madhukar Kshirsagar
Madhukar Kshirsagar is a trained bansuri artist and vocalist as well, who also serves as a featured performer at major cultural events. He has a deep appreciation and passion for classical traditions and performing arts and is actively studying, showcasing or developing technology for them. He lives in the Tri-State area with a family who shares his artistic vision and creative drive. Professionally, he is the President at Modern Music Labs who specializes in software and digital products for Indian music.

Ruchi Patkar
Ruchi Patkar is the Founder of Maitree – the Millburn-Short Hills Marathi Community, established in 2024 to bring local Marathi families together and foster community connections. A passionate student of Hindustani classical music, she enjoys exploring ragas and participating in musical gatherings. Professionally, Ruchi is a Product Owner at KPMG, leading Digital and Cloud Transformation initiatives within Audit & Assurance. She is also an enthusiastic home cook, an avid reader, and a self-taught painter. Through Manollasini, she is delighted to support the Maharashtra Chapter and contribute to preserving and celebrating Marathi culture, music, and community through volunteer service.
Snehal Pokharkar
Snehal Pokharkar is a trained Kathak dancer and vocalist as well, who also serves as a master of ceremonies on cultural events. She has a deep appreciation and passion for cultural activities and performing arts and is often organizing, participating or volunteering for them. She lives in Jersey with two children and her husband, all who are equally passionate about creative arts, as well as travelling to new countries and places. They have two dogs and have fostered dogs in the past. Professionally, she is a Partner at EY who specializes in AI and Data services and products for Consumer Products and Life Sciences.
Anagha Joshi
Anagha is a Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in pre- and postnatal care. She is also a former yoga studio owner and a past microbiologist—which basically means she's fascinated by wellness on every level. Her curious nature and scientific background drives her passion for fitness, nutrition, and getting experimental in the kitchen as a culinary artist.When she isn’t mixing up healthy recipes or finding new ways to move, she can usually be found outside exploring with her family and their dog, Maple.

Rekha Laghate
Rekha Laghate is a New Jersey-certified property manager who balances her real estate career with a passion for community service, travel, and yoga. A versatile and dedicated volunteer for Manollasini events, she supports behind-the-scenes logistics by managing the registration desk, coordinating stage backdrops, and preparing food. Outside of her professional and community work, Rekha is an avid globetrotter and culinary enthusiast who loves exploring the world and cooking diverse global cuisines.
